Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
