🔗 Share this article The Latest Relaxed Game Mode Sparks Heated Discussions Over AI Players, Experience Points, and Queue Times Recently, the game developers launched a fresh playlist called Relaxed Breakthrough. To put it simply, this option mirrors the regular Breakthrough setup but includes a few notable changes: Every squad includes only 8 real players, with the rest made up of AI-controlled opponents. Actions performed by human gamers award complete experience points, while bot actions provide reduced XP. Only two locations are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State map. Features like Dogtags, achievements, and career stat updates have been turned off. In short, this mode delivers on its title: it offers a laid-back version of Breakthrough. At face value, one could assume there's nothing wrong, as it provides more options for gamers seeking alternative methods to enjoy the game. But, if video games has shown one thing, it is that not everyone will be happy. In other words, many Battlefield 6 fans are mad. Player Reactions: Anger to Support "People want human opponents. Don't repeat the mistakes of your rivals," reads one reply to the mode reveal. "Absolutely shocking concept," comments a different user. Meanwhile, on the Battlefield subreddit, one user remarks, "It's unclear where we are going with this title," while someone else lists all the issues they believe to be problematic in the game: "Fix bugs, address drone issues, fix IVF rockets, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We do not require this AI-heavy playlist." On the other hand, amid the criticism, there are players explaining how much they're liking the recent addition. "It's very fun to warm up, human participants keep it from being a complete grind but it's very relaxed," says one Reddit comment. "The community doesn't understand that there are players who have lives and don't play this title all the time. Let them strike a balance," adds another. A response on Twitter clarifies that as they're "a battledad with limited time, this is perfect for me," while someone else applauds the mode for "not being overcompetitive." Constructive Concerns and Community Feedback Despite the support, players have valid points to complain about Casual Breakthrough. Some users have highlighted that it will make queue times even longer for different playlists because of the large amount of options currently available. Similarly, some areas often face AI-filled matches in the existing playlists. Additionally, it appears somewhat counterintuitive that the mode won't start without a required amount of human gamers, even though it focuses mostly on combat against bots. Lastly, one of the biggest grievances is that Battlefield Portal was meant to offer complete rewards, even against bots, but that was removed when they tried to remove bot farms from the system. So Casual Breakthrough seems like the community meeting them in the middle, as per a Reddit comment. Another describes this mode as the developers "dropping the ball so hard, I experienced so much fun in the initial release, what prompted them to change it?" Future Prospects: Adjustments Occur? Should Battlefield Studios has demonstrated something so far with Battlefield 6, it's that they're listening and acting on feedback. Assignments being too difficult got fixed rapidly, as did the specific battle pass objectives. Chances are that, should analytics shows this recent mode is underperforming to their standards, they will not hesitate to make further modifications.
